Amrika Tikasingh is a Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher (E-RYT 200, RYT 500) and continuing education provider (YACEP), offering yoga as a complete and living practice. Her work is rooted in classical Hatha yoga and Vedantic philosophy, and shared in a way that is both accessible and deeply transformative.
Born in Trinidad and raised within a traditional yoga lineage, Amrika grew up attending yoga camps and immersed in the teachings from a young age. This early foundation continues to shape her approach today—one that honours the depth of the practice while meeting people where they are in modern life.
Her path has not been linear. With a background in banking as a manager of customer service and financial advisor, alongside years of community coordination, animal welfare work, and leadership roles, Amrika brings a grounded and real-world perspective to her teaching. A pivotal life transition led her back to yoga—not just as a practice, but as a way of living.
She is also trained in craniosacral therapy and Ayurvedic bodywork, and has completed training with the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Society, maintaining annual certification. Her work integrates an understanding of the nervous system, brain health, and the lived experience of those navigating stress, chronic pain, or recovery.
Amrika is known as a “teacher’s teacher,” offering depth in areas such as pranayama, meditation, Sanskrit, and philosophy. She creates spaces that feel safe, supportive, and expansive—whether through weekly classes, private sessions, workshops, satsang, or retreats.
At the heart of her work is a simple truth: what we are seeking is already within us. Through practice, community, and guidance, she supports others in remembering that.
Her work is guided by the intention:
Awaken your inner radiance.
